Pay for the conclusions. Never for your own record.
Persto Plus is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year in the United States. Eligible new subscribers may see a seven-day trial in Apple's purchase sheet. Core workouts, logging, history, the chain and Apple Watch remain free. No Persto account, no ads, no countdown.
Public App Store availability will be announced when ready. Prices are shown here so the paid features are clear before anyone subscribes.
Free is not a trial.
There is no countdown on the free tier and no feature that quietly stops working. It is a whole app on its own, and for most people it is the only part they will ever need.
- ✓ A full session, every day. Built from your goal, your experience, your training split and the equipment you actually have, at home or at your gym. Not a sample of the real plan. The real plan.
- ✓ Logging, and keeping what you logged. Every set, every rep, every session, in full. Your history stays readable and exportable whether or not you ever pay, and it is waiting intact if you subscribe later.
- ✓ The chain. One action a day, the streak it builds, and the training load chart behind it.
- ✓ Recovery, read from Apple Health. Sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, steps, active energy, exercise time and body weight, turned into a readiness verdict and the reasons behind it. Being told to rest is not something you should have to pay to hear.
- ✓ The Apple Watch app. A real workout session on the watch, with live heart rate from the watch's own sensors, pause and resume, and partial saves so an interrupted session is still a session.
- ✓ Home screen widgets. Your chain and today's call, on the iPhone home screen.
- ✓ Achievements. Earned from what you actually did, and said once rather than every time you open the app.
- ✓ No Persto account. Core training works signed out and without an internet connection. Sign in with Apple is optional, asks for neither your name nor your email address, and is used only to verify a direct transfer when the sender signed in.
- ✓ Encrypted export, and the move to a new phone. Your own passphrase, which Persto never has a copy of. Restoring never needs an active subscription.
The four things Plus adds.
Plus is not a bigger app with more of everything. It is the short list of conclusions Persto draws from what you logged. Your data is free. Conclusions drawn from it are Plus.
Your next working weight.
The engine reads the sets you actually logged, picks its formula by rep range, branches on how hard the last set felt, and does not suggest an increase when readiness is Rest. Logging the set is free and always will be. Being told what to attempt next is the part that took the work.
The coach's daily note.
One note a day, generated on the phone by Apple's on-device model, explaining in plain sentences what the engine decided and why. It is instructed to use the app's visible records and passes through local safety checks, but generated text can be wrong. It is training guidance, not medical advice.
The trajectory card.
Your last month of engine numbers, fitness, form, the chain and your readiness mornings, stated plainly as how far you have moved. It is arithmetic, not a model, so it runs on any iPhone and it stays out of medicine on purpose.
The coach conversation.
A saved conversation with the on-device coach, which can keep short generated memories about how you train. Those memories stay on the phone, are filtered locally, and are listed on the You screen so you can review or delete them. Do not use them for allergies, medication, injuries or measurements.
Two of those four need an iPhone that can run Apple Intelligence: the coach conversation, and a note written by the model. The other two work on any iPhone Persto supports. The purchase screen tells you which phone you are holding before you buy, and on a phone that cannot generate, the note slot takes a sentence you write yourself instead.
Manual iCloud setup save, restore and deletion are free. They are not part of Persto Plus.
What it costs.
Two prices, one trial length, and no other numbers to find.
- ✓ Both figures are United States dollars. Prices outside the United States differ, and the App Store shows yours inside the app before you agree to anything.
- ✓ Eligible new subscribers may receive a seven-day trial. The App Store purchase screen shows your eligibility and terms before you confirm.
- ✓ It renews automatically until you cancel, and it is charged to your Apple Account.
- ✓ Cancel in your Apple Account settings, the same place as every other subscription. Persto cannot cancel it for you and does not put a step in front of it.
- ✓ Stop paying and you keep everything you recorded. The four conclusions above stop. Nothing you logged is deleted, hidden, or made harder to get out.
No countdown timers, no crossed out prices, no offer that ends tonight. A product whose whole pitch is that it does not lie to you cannot open with manufactured scarcity.
The money questions
Asked before anyone pays a cent.
Why is logging free but the next weight paid?
Because recording a set is bookkeeping and deciding the next load is not. A record of what you did belongs to you, and holding it hostage is the behaviour this product exists not to have. The engine that picks your next attempt branches on rep range, on how the set felt, and on whether your recovery allows it. That is the work, and that is the part with a price on it.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
You keep it. It was on your phone the whole time. Your sets stay logged in full, your history stays readable, and the encrypted export keeps working. Getting your own data back never needs a payment, and restoring an export never needs an active subscription.
Do I have to make an account?
No. Core training works signed out and without a Persto account. Sign in with Apple is optional, and it deliberately asks for neither your email address nor your name. Plus itself is tied to your Apple Account, the way every App Store subscription is, and not to a Persto account, because there is no such thing.
Do I need a new iPhone to get value from Plus?
For two of the four, no. The next working weight and the trajectory card run on any iPhone Persto supports. The coach conversation and a model-written daily note need Apple Intelligence, which needs recent hardware. The purchase screen says which of those your phone can do before you buy, and if it cannot run the model it says so plainly rather than selling you the idea.
Do you sell my health data to fund the free tier?
No. There is no advertising, no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, and no data sale. The subscription is the business model, which is precisely why it exists.
What about encrypted cloud backup, or sharing with friends?
Persto offers a free encrypted export for your complete data and a free manual iCloud copy containing only your display name and coach voice. The iCloud copy is not a full backup and never contains training setup, Health data, body measurements, training history or logged sets. Persto does not currently include social sharing.
