Stop negotiating with yourself.

You already know what to do. The problem is the quiet bail: the snooze, the "I'll start Monday," the workout that never happens. Persto is built to kill that moment.

Built for iPhone and Apple Watch. Public App Store availability will be announced when ready.

One decision a day. The rest is just doing it.

Most fitness apps give you a hundred ways to record that you did nothing. Persto has one session a day and one button that starts it. Starting it and closing it out are the only two moments the app is allowed to hit hard, and they feel different on purpose, a deep thud and a sharp catch, so you know which one just happened without looking.

Planning

The session is decided before you get there.

Every day one engine builds a complete session from what you are training for, how long you have trained, the split you picked, and the equipment actually in the room. You open the app to a plan, not to an empty list.

Reading

It checks the night before it asks for the day.

Sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability come out of Apple Health, judged against your own recent baseline, and today comes back Ready, Moderate or Rest. When there is no recent reading, it says so instead of guessing.

Training

Set by set, phone or wrist.

Start on the iPhone or start on the Apple Watch, and the session runs where you started it, one set at a time, with a rest timer that names what is coming next. The chain underneath it keeps your last twenty-eight days.

Built for the days you do not feel like it.

Four tabs do the work: Today, Health, Coach, You. Each one is designed to shorten the distance between opening the app and doing the thing.

Today

One plan, ready to start.

See today's recovery context, the planned session and one clear path into guided training.

Health

Signals in context.

Read permitted Apple Health trends, missing-data states and the reasons behind readiness.

Coach

Local coaching, bounded by rules.

Ask about local training context. Generated replies can be wrong and cannot override safety, readiness or completion rules.

You

Setup and data controls.

Review equipment, schedule, workout duration, permissions, export and manual iCloud actions.

Some days the work is rest.

Persto scores your readiness from sleep, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability, measured against your own baseline rather than a population average. On a bad day it tells you to rest, and it means it: on a day it has called Rest, the engine will not add load.

  • Reminders arrive on the days you said you could train, at the time you said
  • A missing reading is shown as missing, never filled in with a zero
  • Rest advice defers to your doctor and never diagnoses

It trains what you avoid.

The plan regenerates daily. It scores every muscle group by how long since you trained it, weights that against the split you picked, and tells you what it chose. Then it walks you through it set by set with a rest timer that knows what is coming next.

  • Logging every set is free, and always will be. That part is your data
  • Rest screens name the next exercise so you can set up early
  • Persto Plus hands the planner your training history, and works out the next working weight from the sets you logged

The coach runs on your phone, or not at all.

Persto's coach is Apple's on-device model, reading the same engine numbers you can see. There is no Persto cloud coach, so nothing you tell it is uploaded to us. It will not talk you into a session your body has not earned.

  • Needs an iPhone that can run Apple Intelligence, and says plainly when yours cannot
  • The conversation and the coach's daily note are Persto Plus
  • Your plan, your history and your recovery warnings are free

Progress is boring. That is the point.

A streak, badges, and a chain of the last twenty-eight days: a whole link for a day you trained, a shattered one for a day you missed, a faint one for a day still open. Wins are announced once, at the moment they happen, and then they get out of the way.

  • Fitness and fatigue charted over time, and the balance between them
  • Seven, thirty, ninety day and one year trends for sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, steps and weight
  • Encrypted export so your history is portable

The watch is not a remote control. It is the whole session.

Persto is being built for Apple Watch. Start a session from your wrist and run it there, set by set, with live heart rate when you grant Health access. The current build mirrors the iPhone's plan and readiness verdict, keeps workout progress on the Watch, and queues actions safely when the phone is out of reach.

Today

Your current plan.

See the readiness conclusion and session carried from the iPhone.

Session

Start from the wrist.

Run supported workouts set by set without treating the Watch as a passive remote.

Live

Measured effort.

See live heart rate and workout progress when you grant the required Health access.

Recovery

Reconnect without losing the record.

Watch actions remain queued until the iPhone confirms it applied them.

Heart rate readings are descriptive, not diagnostic. Persto is not a substitute for medical advice.

Your body is not our business model.

Every fitness app says it respects your privacy. Here is the specific, checkable version of that claim.

  • Your weight, workouts, sleep, resting heart rate and commitments live in protected app storage, encrypted by iOS Data Protection and excluded from iCloud backup.
  • Nothing moves itself. Getting that data to a new iPhone is something you do on purpose, either as an encrypted export or handed straight across the room, phone to phone, without creating a transfer file.
  • The coach runs on Apple's on-device model. There is no Persto cloud coach, and nothing you say to it leaves the phone.
  • Manual iCloud setup save, restore and deletion are free. Persto saves only your display name and coach voice when you tap a button. Training setup, Health data, body measurements, training history and logged sets are excluded by a rule the app tests.
  • No advertising, no advertising identifiers, and no third party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information, and health data is never used for advertising.

Straight answers.

Can I download it right now?

Join the early access list for TestFlight invitations and public App Store availability updates. Persto is built for iPhone and Apple Watch, and a separate Android build shares the same tested engine.

Do I need a smartwatch?

No. The phone app is complete on its own. An Apple Watch adds live heart rate during a session, set-by-set guidance from the wrist, and outdoor runs recorded on the watch's own sensors.

Does it work offline?

The core training experience works signed out and without an internet connection. Store purchases, manual iCloud actions and Sign in with Apple need Apple's services, while a direct phone transfer needs the local network. Coaching is generated on the device when the phone supports Apple's on-device model.

What does Persto Plus cost?

In the United States, Persto Plus is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. Eligible new subscribers may see a seven-day trial in the App Store purchase sheet. Plus adds your next working weight, the coach's daily note, the trajectory card and the coach conversation. Manual iCloud setup save, restore and deletion remain free.

What happens to my data if I quit?

Deleting the app removes Persto's local data from that iPhone. Workouts already written to Apple Health stay in Health. A setup copy you manually saved to iCloud also remains until you use Persto's Delete saved preferences from iCloud control. You can export an encrypted backup first if you want to keep your history. The deletion page spells out each route.

Is this medical advice?

No. Persto is a fitness and accountability tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice, and it defers to your doctor anywhere it touches something prescriptive such as goal weight or recovery.
