I built this because I kept bailing on myself.
Persto exists because knowing what to do was never the problem. The problem was the quiet moment where you decide not to, and no app I tried had anything to say about that moment. So I built the one that does.
Robert Tolbert. That is the whole team.
No investors, no growth team, and nobody whose job depends on your screen time going up. That is a limitation and it is also the point: there is nobody here who benefits from making the app stickier rather than more useful. If something in Persto is annoying, it is a bug or a bad decision, not a strategy.

Your body is not our business model.
Your weight, your sleep, your resting heart rate, the sessions you finished and the ones you skipped: all of it sits in one document in the app's private storage, encrypted by the operating system, and it does not leave the phone unless you move it yourself. Not because of a policy that could change next quarter, but because the app was built so that there is nothing on a server to change its mind about.
- Signing in is optional. The core training experience works signed out and without an internet connection. Sign in with Apple asks for neither your email nor your name, and the identifier it keeps is used only to verify a direct transfer when the sending phone was signed in.
- Training and health information stay out of Persto's iCloud setup store. A manual, encrypted copy can carry only your display name and coach voice. Training setup, Health readings, body measurements, allergies, readiness, training history and logged sets are excluded by code and tests.
- The Apple app does not collect allergy data. It has no food feature and makes no food-safety claim. An older beta profile can remove legacy allergy data from the You screen.
- Export and deletion are free and permanent. Getting your own data out is not a paid feature and never becomes one.
The longer version, with the algorithms named, is on the security page.
What it will not do
The list matters more than the features.
A miss stays yours.
Nothing is broadcast when you skip. Wins are celebrated once, at the moment they happen, and then they get out of the way.
The AI does not decide you trained.
Readiness, progression, completion and calorie floors are ordinary deterministic code, pinned by test vectors. The language model writes sentences; it does not get a vote on the record.
It reads recovery before it pushes.
On a bad day it tells you to rest and it means it. A coach that only ever says go is not a coach, it is a timer.

Persto is built for iPhone and Apple Watch. A separate Android build shares the same tested engine and reached closed testing first. Join the early access list for testing and public App Store availability updates.
